General Poetry Readings

Readings include sharing information about or discussion of applicable historical people and events, as well as writer’s personal experience and history.

Literary Discussions and Talks

1.  African American history and culture; the multicultural presence in American literature;

     gender and sexual orientation in American literature.

2. Programs for seniors, community centers, public schools, colleges and universities.

Other Programs

1.  Small-group workshops in poetry, memoir writing and the short story. Includes writing and critiquing individual students.

2.  Consultations with individual students.

3.  School visitations, including workshops, classrooms visits and one-on-one consultations with interested

     students and/or a reading to a large group or entire school.
